We held another very successful fly tying workshop in November 2022. The event gave members the opportunity to ask for specific flies to be demonstrated and to try for themselves.
Like all of our events the social side was just as important as the event itself and members had an enjoyable time chatting with like minded people.

Following David Moore’s write up on the Invicta Facebook page of Narborough Lakes, club anglers Andy Trafankowski and Roger Swain decided to give it a go while the reservoirs are closed. Roger was snapped up on a good fish, but redeemed himself later with a personal best rainbow weighing 13lbs 11oz caught on a gold head black buzzer. It beat his previous pb of 13lb 2oz, also from Narborough in 2018.

Fantastic Narborough Fishery in Norfolk continues to produce huge trout. Following an invitation from owner Ian Peberdy, David Moore catches two double figure fish including this personal best 12lb Rainbow. Well worth a visit when it reopens on 1st February.

We may be a fly fishing club; however a good number of our well established members (Andy Linwood, Peter Hartley Mel Parrott and Martyn Sharp to name a few) are also accomplished and regular coarse anglers.
Invicta member Keith (Mac) McDonald had a cracking days Barbel fishing on the River Severn. He was told not to expect a double, as they are fairly rare on the stretch he fished, but was lucky enough to catch one at 11lb 6ozs. The reason there is no background to the photo is because he was fishing an ordinary club water, and his host didn’t want to give away the location.
